Colour changing garden lighting

This custom designed low voltage garden system avoids mains voltage in a damp environment.
Our system uses a low voltage 12 volt supply. All electrical units are housed in weather proof enclosures.

Tunable, colour changing RGB, RGBA, RGBW LEDs can be individually varied in output to create a mixture of light that is white, off white, or a saturated primary colour.

Primary RGB led saturated colours are used for colour changing conditions from full red to green and then blue in a controlled colour mix.

RGBA uses a fourth amber led. With an additional amber chip RGBA strips can produce brighter and more accurate ambers. Because of this RGBA products are used frequently in restaurant design, bars and nightclubs where amber light is required as well as colour change.

RGBW will tune from saturated colours to a fourth white led, but cool in colour. RGBWW uses an extra warm white led to produce a warm 3000K look.

Dual tunable white led is a CCT – colour correlated temperature – white & blue LED that nearly fits across the white part of the chromaticity chart. It changes from warm 2000 Kelvin to blue daylight 6500 Kelvin using a dimming protocol.  In the near future, it seems likely that tunable white LED lighting will become the lighting type of choice for offices & workplace.

The system

DMX512 controllers are lighting protocol that allows all lamps to be set independently of each other. The DMX512 protocol can set 512 addresses (8 bit) via RS485. The protocol is standardized and has been used for many years in the lighting industry.

The DMX receiver

The DMX can control multiple LED Driver units (DMX receiver) which connect directly to the LED source.  An 8-group x 3 will control 24 channels to a strip lights or LED panel lamp. A typical example would be the WS24LU3A.

The input device

Input controllers range from a simple touch switch to a computer control consul.
These devices use DMX protocol to address the lighting source.
R,G,B, brightness, scene files, and colour change all programmed into the system.

Lighting Design

As lighting technology advances we have kept up with the latest inovations and designed systems that are both simple and complex. From designing a simple luminaire to complex lighting structures,
